Quarter moon gloss print on photographic heavy card 390mm x 390mm. Signed and numbered limited prints - only 3 prints for sale of this photo.
Taken during the 2020 lock down from Kelvin Grove, Qld.
What appears to be half a moon is actually called a 'quarter moon' because of the angle from which we view the moon from Earth. We're only seeing a quarter of the moon lit up. The moon is always half lit by the sun (except for partial and total lunar eclipses) - it's our perspective that creates the moon's different shapes through the lunar cycle. When we witness a total solar eclipse, the 'dark' side of the moon is completely lit by the sun, but completely dark from our perspective.
